Gilmore's Acceptance Speech

THOR Detachment recently elected Gilmore to lead us for the next year.  Here is his acceptance speech.
First and foremost, I would like to thank Jay Anderson for his years of service as a United States Marine and his service and dedication to the Marine Corps League as a valuable member and as Commandant.

Secondly, I would like to thank Cary Stewart for his service and for being here tonight to swear me in as Commandant.  He is turly missed by all.

I didn't run for and accept this position because I wanted a title or all the female groupies that come with it.  I took this position because I knew I could excel, lead and help continue to grow this detachment.

My first goal as Commandant is to not stop recruiting new members, but to get the older members back.  I can build this detachment, but I can't do it without you.  I can make this detachment fun, but I can't do it without you.  I can raise money and funds to support Marines and this detachment, but I can't do it without you.

I ask you, as your new Commandant, for your support, trust, patience, and suggestions.

Thank you for electing me as your new Commandant.

Gilmore
Commandant
THOR Detachment #606, Marine Corps League
